Arrival for Grand River

Recital Day Information & Friendly Reminders

Performance Venue:
Grand River Center
500 Bell St.
Dubuque, Iowa 52001

We are so excited to share this special performance with you! Thank you for helping us make recital day run smoothly and allowing all of our kiddos to have a wonderful experience. 🩷

Before You Arrive

Please plan to arrive 30 minutes before the recital with your dancer in full costume, hair in a bun, and makeup already applied.

If your dancer has a costume change, please keep it as simple as possible. You may also consider using one costume or company attire when appropriate to make changes easier, as we do not have a separate changing facility.

Please make sure your child brings a water bottle clearly labeled with their name.

Where Do the Dancers Go?

Once you enter the performance area:

  • Dancers wearing tan shoes should head behind the curtain to our backstage area, where they will remain with Miss Dee.
  • Performers wearing white shoes will sit with their parents until three numbers before their performance.
  • Pre/K dancers will sit with their parents during the show. Please take these little ones to the restroom before the recital begins so they are ready when it is their turn to perform.

A Few Loving Audience Reminders

We want every family to be able to enjoy watching their child perform, so we kindly ask everyone to help us keep the performance area calm and comfortable.

Please remain seated during performances and move about only when necessary and between numbers. Little ones are welcome and loved! We simply ask that they remain seated or on a parent’s lap during the performance. If they need a little break to wiggle, move, or stretch their legs, please feel free to take them into the hallway and return when they’re ready.

Photos & Videos

Please do not use flash photography during the performance.

You are welcome to take non-flash photos or videos from your seat. We also ask that you please do not post photos or videos that include other children without permission. Some of our kiddos have restrictions regarding what may be shared publicly, and we want to lovingly respect every family’s privacy.

If you have something special you would like to share, please contact Miss Dee. She can help determine whether it may be posted through DDSGC so that you can then share it appropriately. Thank you for helping us protect all of our children. 🩷

And Don’t Leave After Your Dancer Performs!

Every dancer is part of our final number!

Following the finale, the kiddos will need a few moments before they are ready for pickup. We appreciate your patience while we safely gather everyone and get them back to their families.

Thank you for helping us create a recital that is joyful, organized, safe, and special for every child. We can’t wait to watch our kiddos shine! 🩷
