Tuition, Payments & Enrollment Policies

Dubuque Dance Studio and Gymnastics Club

We appreciate the commitment our families make to their children’s education in dance and gymnastics! Our tuition and enrollment policies help us maintain consistent class sizes, provide dependable instruction, and plan responsibly for our students and instructors.

We kindly ask all families to review these policies before registering.

1. Tuition & Payment Deadlines

School-Year Tuition (September–May)

Tuition is due before the first day of each month, September through May.

Tuition reserves your student’s place in class for the entire term rather than paying for individual lessons. The annual tuition amount is divided into monthly installments for the convenience of our families.

Scheduled holidays, vacations, and student absences do not reduce monthly tuition.

Summer Classes & Special Sessions

Summer tuition is due when reserving a class unless prior payment arrangements have been approved by the office.

All summer and special-session registrations are subject to the same nonrefundable payment policy.

2. Annual Tuition Discounts

Families who prefer to pay their school-year tuition in full may take advantage of the following discounts:

  • 9% discount: Paid by April 1
  • 7% discount: Paid by July 1
  • 5% discount: Paid by September 1

Discounts apply to eligible tuition paid in full by the applicable deadline.

3. Late Payments & Outstanding Balances

A mandatory $3 late fee per unpaid charge is assessed when payment has not been received before the first of the month.

Families are responsible for keeping their accounts current throughout their enrollment.

Accounts with outstanding balances may be subject to additional applicable late fees, restrictions on online account access, required automatic payment arrangements, and collection procedures.

Accounts more than 30 days past due may be referred for collection in accordance with applicable law.

We appreciate timely payments, as they allow us to meet our commitments to instructors, facilities, and students.

4. Registration & Automatic Re-Enrollment

When a student registers or begins attending classes, a place is reserved for that student for the entire session.

Students are automatically re-enrolled for the following school year unless written withdrawal notice is received.

Annual registration forms and applicable registration fees are required.

  • Individual Registration Fee: $15
  • Family Registration Fee: $20

Registration fees are nonrefundable.

Automatic payment arrangements are part of our regular enrollment process.

5. Discontinuing Classes & Written Withdrawal Notice

We understand that family schedules and circumstances occasionally change. If you need to discontinue regular classes during the September–May school year, please provide written notice to our office.

Written notice must be received by the 15th of the current month to discontinue enrollment effective the first of the following month.

For example, notice received by February 15 will discontinue enrollment effective March 1.

Written notice may be submitted by email, text, or hard copy.

Please understand:

  • Verbal conversations alone do not constitute withdrawal notice.
  • Tuition and applicable charges continue until proper written notice is received and the withdrawal becomes effective.
  • Families remain responsible for all charges incurred through the effective withdrawal date.
  • An outstanding account balance must be paid in full.

These requirements allow us to adjust class availability, instructor schedules, and staffing commitments appropriately.

Competitive Team Members: Team enrollment involves additional seasonal commitments and different withdrawal deadlines. Please review our separate Competitive Team Policies before registering.

6. Refunds, Credits & Prepaid Fees

All tuition and studio fees are nonrefundable, except where required by law.

This includes:

  • Monthly and annual tuition
  • Summer classes and special sessions
  • Registration fees
  • Equipment and apparel orders
  • Recital and performance fees
  • Competition and event registration fees
  • Prepaid lessons and programs

Fees are not refunded for student absences, schedule changes, voluntary withdrawals, or missed participation.

Payments reserve class placement, instructional resources, and other commitments made on behalf of our students.

7. Absences & Make-Up Lessons

We understand that students occasionally need to miss class because of illness, family obligations, or other circumstances.

When space is available, we are happy to offer a make-up opportunity.

Make-Up Lesson Requirements

  • Make-up lessons must be completed within 30 days of the original absence.
  • Families must contact the office in advance to reserve a place in an appropriate class.
  • Make-ups are offered only when suitable class space is available.
  • Students must remain actively enrolled and current with tuition during the month or session in which the make-up occurs.
  • Make-up lessons cannot be carried beyond the student’s enrollment session.

If a suitable make-up opportunity is unavailable, the missed lesson is forfeited.

Missed classes do not qualify for tuition refunds, credits, or extensions.

8. Account Credits & Family Referrals

We appreciate families who recommend our programs to others!

Current studio families who refer a new family may receive a $15 studio account credit, provided the referral is identified at the time of the new family’s registration.

Referral credits:

  • Are applied toward tuition beginning in October of the applicable school year
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Cannot be transferred to another family or account
  • Must be requested or identified at the time of registration

Other credits issued by the studio are applied according to the specific terms under which they were granted.

9. Agreement & Financial Responsibility

By registering for or attending classes, families acknowledge their responsibility to comply with studio enrollment, tuition, payment, and withdrawal policies.

All applicable charges remain the responsibility of the account holder until paid in full.

Our policies are designed to maintain fairness, consistency, and a positive experience for every family while supporting the continued operation of our programs.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and commitment to our studio family!

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your children and appreciate the trust you place in us.

With appreciation,

Miss Dee
