Josie was the Junior Steven Boyd Award Winner at Masquerade Dance Competition in Des Moines this weekend! Steven Boyd was a friend of Masquerade Dance, a judge and Master Class Teacher who died 10 years ago. He had an unmatched passion for dance and was an amazing mentor to young dancers.
The award is given to the one dancer that Masquerade feels embodies Steven Boyd’s passion for dance on stage and off, and that they feel Steven would have loved to mentor and work with! The competition director told us that Josie’s love of dance showed during all her dances and her improv, and that they noticed her backstage bright and warm and helping with younger dancers, props, awards, etc.
