

Parent/Tot Gymnastics This class is designed for Children 18 months to 3 years, however any parent who wants to attend class with their child, should choose this class. This class is designed to let children and parents explore a wide variety of motor skills, muscle development, hand / eye coordination, as well as the introduction to the beginning techniques of gymnastics. As with all of our programs, this class has progression worked into it. Our goals are to progress the student to the preschool level and aid in the development of social skills to enhance their academics. This class is a 30 minute class that meets once a week. Attire for this class is comfortable clothing, and socks for your feet. The parents main purpose for attending class with is to keep the child on task and aid in relay and reinforcing specifics on activities, events and skills. Preschool Dance and Kindergarten / 1st Grade Dance Tap, ballet terminology, and jazz training together in one class. This class teaches discipline, rhythm and coordination. Students learn basics that will build throughout their dance experience and aid in their progression. Students learn two tap routines, ballet terminology, muscles groups, and two movement routines either ballet or jazz. Preschool students attend 30 minutes classes once a week and Kindergarten / 1st Grade students attend 45 minute classes once a week. Attire for classes: girls wear a leotard and tights (any color), boys wear shorts and a t-shirt that can be tucked in. For shoes: girls wear white tap and white ballet shoes, boys wear black tap shoes and black ballet shoes. At either of these levels, students are able to sign up for our exhibition team, The Dubuque Dance Company. Preschool Gymnastics and Kindergarten / 1st Gymnastics A fun, active class teaching gymnastic fundamentals skills and progression proper for this age and development. Students will learn basic gymnastics skills on different events, basic motor skills, muscle groups, and stretching. Preschool students attend 30 minute classes once a week and Kindergarten / 1st Grade students attend 45 min - one hour classes once a week. Attire for class is a leotard and socks for girls, for boys it's shorts and a t-shirt that can be tucked in. Many times students take back to back classes of dance and gymnastics, in which case the girls wear the dance outfits and ballet shoes if needed on their feet. Tap/Ballet Technique / Lyrical /Jazz / Hip Hop For Grades 1st through high school. Whether you student is getting prepared for a dance team, theater, or cheerleading, this is the best foundation for their talents to build. All disciplines are incorporated into one class. Students learn terminology, techniques, stretches and steps appropriate for their age and level, all aspects of class are set to progress and build the student from year to year, empower the student build and develop his/her body. This class is designed to show and use progression from year to year. The disciplines are offered together because just as singers are educated in music and dance, a dancer MUST be well rounded in their dance education. Each discipline offers essentials to a dancer. As we tour with national artists, and to national conventions, it is the our well rounded dancers who are excelling and winning scholarships, recognition and placing high at or winning competitions. This class is an hour 45 minutes. Attire for this class for girls is a leotard and tights. Shoes needed for class are tan taps, lyrical shoes and tan jazz shoes. Boys wear short and a t-shirt and black tap and black jazz shoes. Hip Hop For Students from Kindergarten through Adult - A fun, upbeat class - that every student will enjoy. Attire for K - 8th grade is a leotard and cover ups. For adult / Middle school and high school classes; attire is comfortable clothing that is stretchable and conceals the body. (No mid-drifts / sports bras / or attire that reveals the torso). Tennis shoes are acceptable - anyone who performs in recital needs tan jazz shoes. Gymnastics Non-competitive. Students are trained with proper technique, form and knowledge on floor, beam, vault, and bars. Boys are trained on floor, rings, bar, and vault. This class is designed to teach fitness, body control, safety and enjoyment of gymnastics. Attire for girls is a leotard and socks. Attire for boys is shorts and a t-shirt that can be tucked in. Beginning - Intermediate Gymnastics is an hour class. Advanced classes are 90 minutes long. The Dubuque Tumbling Team We are members of USTA and follow the USTA program. Students attend one weekday class of tumbling and / or gymnastics as well as the Competitive Class that usually meets on Saturday. Competitions are primarily on the central to east side of the state. The Dubuque Gymnastics Team By invitation only. Levels 4 and up. USA Gymnastics Competitive Program. Meets three to days a week. Competitions are usually on the eastern half of the state. The Dubuque Dance Company The Dubuque Dance Company is an exhibition team, and is for the dancer who loves to dance. All dancers enrolled in tap, ballet/lyrical, and jazz, ages three and up are welcome to enroll in our Dubuque Dance Company. Students are not auditioned to join this group, but sign up and progress in levels by empower the student to train, build and stretch their body. At this time we have eight company levels. This class consists of an hour of routines and new skills as well as an hour of technique/pointe. The two hours are arranged back to back and are treated as one class. Competition is available through this program. Dance Competition Team / Solo Class Members of the Dance Company are welcome to sign up for solo classes. We hand pick our competition team from The Dubuque Dance Company. |
